Egmont - We bring stories to life

Rose Cottage

Rose Cottage is not at all like Nutmouse Hall. Mr Mildew never does any cleaning or tidying, and he never throws anything away, so the house is filthy. It is also in very bad repair. The walls are damp, the plaster is crumbling, and the carpets are so threadbare you can see right through to the floorboards, which are full of woodworm. Arthur and Lucy sleep in a forlorn little attic bedroom, with a broken window and a ceiling that leaks. But the room starts to look very different after Tumtum and Nutmeg begin their midnight visits.
